Dichroic Glass Jewellery

I specialise in fused glass jewellery using dichroic glass. ‘Dichroic’ means two colours. Dichroic glass appears one colour when seen by relected light and another colour when light shines through it. It was originally made in Germany over 100 years ago and in the sixties was developed by NASA for use in their space programme. But I just love it because it is so sparkly! ( Photos never do the glass justice!) And however you design a piece you can never be quite sure what it will look like until it comes out of the kiln. I get the sort of excitement I once had with my Christmas stocking!
Every piece is unique and though similar pieces can be made, no two are ever the same. The strongest epoxy resin is used to attach the silver or gold plated bails. I use sterling silver for the earrings and rings. Each pendant, ring, pair of earrings or cuff links come in a pretty jewellery box ( see photo).
They make really super affordable Christmas or birthday presents.
